Because people tend to do this in terms of what they can achieve. The only limitation of the mind is the limitation you imposed on it yourself. It can be liberating when defining your goal to ask yourself these hypothetical questions:

What if anything is possible?

What if all of this would succeed?

Now, remember that time in your life when you were in your element. Like time just flew by and you were enjoying and making things happen.

What was the situation you were in?

Were you teaching something to someone?

Were you selling something?

Was it a situation you had something in control? Like leading a group of people?

Were you alone or with other people?

Were you doing thorough research for an issue?

In my case, thinking back to the moment I was in my element was the last key part to define the right goal for me. I discovered I was in my element when working for myself and towards something that was my own.

This given and my values of freedom and independence, my need to have an impact and to develop personal, it became my goal to start my own online business. A goal that made me independent and free to work when and from where I wanted. And through my business, I could make an impact on other people’s lives. To have the strength mentally and physically, a good health is a condition for me to live according to my values and needs.

How do you know it’s the right goal?

When defining the right goal many people have the same question: ´´how do you know it’s the right goal?´´ In conversation with other people about goal defining I heard many right goals pass by. For one because the goals were based on the steps I described. But all of these people also experienced the same thing that is the answer on this question.

With the right goal you can see the result in your mind: holding the cup, marrying your childhood friend. This image of the end result does something with your feeling. It will make you do the difficult or maybe boring things along the way. It will ensures you to channel your energy the right way. It will increase your motivation daily and let you adjust your habits to increase the chance of achieving your goal.

increase your chance of succeeding

Make sure your goal is concrete. The goal must say something about when you want to achieve certain things. Because the more concrete it is, the easier it is to make a plan for it and so the more chance you have of succeeding. For example don’t just say ´´I want ro earn more money´´. Then say you want to make a million in the next 5 years. A concrete goal that gets you and ensures that you make other, better choices.

DARE!

Last but not least. It’s okay if your defined goal seems unreachable at first. When people take the time to think about it, the more realistic the goal becomes. You need that challenge that is in the goals that initially seems unrealistic. A good life is the biggest pitfall of having a great life. If a tennisplayer sets his goal to reach the top 50, he accepts that 49 players are better than him, why? It’s like Les Brown said: ´´Point your arrows at the moon, because even if you miss you land between the stars.´´

I hope the information in these blogs helped you in a way it helped me. Feel free to leave a commen tand I hope to see you next week in my next blog ´3 useful things for achieving your goal´

Be happy with the now in pursuit of what you want.

Lloyd Jackson

Key thing in this second and last part is to keep in mind not to limit yourself.
